Ukraine - Midas helps
The war in Ukraine has also caused great consternation at Midas Pharma and its employees worldwide. We are following the suffering of the people in and from the embattled regions with deep concern. There are also colleagues at Midas Pharma who are directly affected, who come from Ukraine and / or have family and friends there - the war is suddenly incredibly close.
Like many other companies, organizations and private individuals, Midas Pharma and its employees looked for ways to support the people from the Ukraine. Ideas were developed immediately in a fast and unbureaucratic way – this is how help should look like and in the end we succeeded.
The flight of two Ukrainian families to Germany was organized from money, donated by employees and Midas Pharma and through the great commitment of Jörg Conrad, CFO & Senior Director Finance & Corporate Controlling. After a difficult 3-day odyssey, both families and their children have now been in Germany for three weeks.
After their arrival, they were initially accommodated privately. With the help of the collected donations in the amount of 5.100 € and a high degree of organizational support by Jörg Conrad and his relatives, an apartment could be found at short notice and could completely equipped with further material donations.
In addition, the two families received support in all administrative procedures, registration for language and integration courses, as well as the registration of the two children in school, which they have already been attending for two weeks.
And how are the two families doing?
Starting a new life with only a backpack on their backs, the trauma of the war and the worry about their fathers, relatives and friends who were not allowed to or could not leave the country. That is a terrible experience which can hardly be coped alone. The gratitude of the two families for the support they have received is enormous as well as the will to be able to take care of themselves again as soon as possible. We wish them a lot of strength to overcome what they have experienced and all the best for their new start in Germany. We hope together with the families for a soon end of the war.
