Roundtable of the Working Group "Health in Asia" at the Berlin Summit

Since the beginning of 2022, Ben Schalke, Market Development Manager International Partnering & Sourcing at Midas Pharma, has acted as co-chairman of the "Health in Asia" working group of the East Asia Association (OAV) and the German Health Alliance (GHA), two of the most important industry and policy networks in Germany.

On 18 October 2022, the working group organised a side event as part of the World Health Summit in Berlin. This was the Singapore Round Table with the title "Smart Healthcare - Latest Trends", which took place at the headquarters of Bayer AG in Berlin. The main guest speaker was the Singapore Minister for Health, Ong Ye Kung. Other panel speakers included representatives from Bayer and Fresenius, as well as Singapore Ambassador Laurence Bay.

In a pleasant atmosphere, there was active discussion about the contributions of the guest speakers and the 40 guests from companies, politics and science. Topics were the progressiveness of the healthcare system in Singapore, what the countries Germany and Singapore can learn from each other, which technology trends are predominant and which business opportunities are available for German companies in the healthcare sector.

The positive feedback from the participants confirmed that the exchange was very informative for all involved. The meetings of the working group provide an important contribution to Midas Pharma GmbH's efforts to gradually expand its business activities in the East Asian region. Next year, the working group will again offer webinars and events.
