COVID-19: Midas supplies Hospital Pharmacies directly with Drug Substances to ensure Patient Care
Due to the current high demand for intensive care drugs caused by COVID-19, supply shortages for certain drugs occur since the end of March / beginning of April. To bridge these bottlenecks and thus ensure patient care, Midas has now for the first time delivered drug substances directly to hospital pharmacies.
The focus of the deliveries initially was on narcotics relevant for COVID-19 treatment, for which Midas was able to rely on established intra-European supply chains respectively the corresponding narcotic drug licenses.
Since the beginning of the crisis, further supply-critical drug substances for hospitals have been published by the European Medicines Agency or by national authorities such as the BfArM. Midas is able to supply most of those relevant drug substances in the usual quality and speed.
