Franziska Zugelder talks about her experiences as an intern at Midas.
Franziska Zugelder completed her three-month internship in Marketing Communications at Midas Pharma in Ingelheim. During her studies in the 5th semester, she decided to gain experience in the marketing of an international pharmaceutical company. Franziska Zugelder gives us an insight into her diverse and exciting tasks and takes us through the everyday work of her internship.
How did you find the internship at Midas and what stage of your studies are you currently in?
I am currently in the 5th semester of my Economic Sciences studies and was looking for an internship for the semester break. I heard a lot of positive things about Midas, which prompted me to apply for an internship in marketing. Fortunately, I got the agreement.
What insights did you get?
I completed the internship in Marketing Communications and thus gained a lot of insights around on- and offline marketing in the company’s B2B environment and above all the marketing communication of Midas towards partners, customers or applicants. In addition to the various social media channels, this includes the website and various offline marketing channels, such as flyers.
What does the course of your internship look like? What does the supervision look like?
I work mostly in the office, sometimes in the home office due to the pandemic. In doing so, I gradually carry out the tasks assigned to me and talk to my colleagues regularly in between. We have scheduled regular meetings in which we coordinate. In addition, I can contact them at any time if I have any questions. I feel very well integrated into the team. Furthermore, since the marketing department works closely with all other departments, I also get a lot of insight into other departments of the company.
What do you like about your internship?
I particularly like the fact that I was able to work independently on small tasks right from the start. In addition, I like the flexibility and variety of tasks and topics, which makes my internship very interesting and varied.
What experience are you leaving the internship with?
During my internship, I was able to get to know various tools, such as graphic programs, in addition to subject-related insights into the marketing field. It was very interesting to see how the corporate philosophy at Midas is reflected on the marketing platforms. I was able to gain valuable practical experience in a globally operating company, for which I am very grateful.
